Welcome!

….to my website and blog and the first entry of many I hope!

This is my first foray into the world of digital writing, and it’s taken a bit of faffing about to get the format right, know how to add things, find a style I liked etc etc. And of course, what to write?!

Part of the faffing about was deciding how to name my site and my blog. It is a minefield out there and as usual, try Google for advice, and you get too much. I came away with the following tips to bear in mind: who is going to read it, what are you going to write about? Keep it ‘spellable’, keep it simple, make it recognisable, make it relevant…..I could go on. And even trying to consider all those things, it still had me stumped for a while!

Well I have started out by creating the blog and hopefully introducing myself successfully, and explaining what it’s all about (not that I know yet!!).

I decided to go down the route of branding myself, thinking that could take me in whatever direction I wanted.  As a mum, I decided that that is the biggest part of my life at the moment……and forever from this time on! And there are so many things people don’t tell you when you become a mum, it absorbs your every waking moment until getting a bit more into the groove….well it did for me anyhow, and the little lad still continues to surprise me every day Everybody has a life before Being Mum, and all of a sudden there is another identity added to your repertoire – Mum to…… People adapt differently, but we all have one thing in common, we are Mums and……lots of other things!

My aim is to write about my experiences, welcome sharing from others, and together learn, laugh, but not lose ourselves So welcome Mum, career girl (insert current or former job!), wife, partner, athlete, crafter, cook, gardener, teacher, artist, I look forward to sharing the journey!
